A security equipment procurement project required SMC compression molds for ballistic helmet shell production. The molds were developed to meet international ballistic protection standards and shipped to Kabul for local manufacturing.
Overview
A security equipment procurement project required compression molds for producing ballistic helmet shells to be manufactured locally in Afghanistan. The mold needed to produce consistent helmet shells meeting international ballistic protection standards while being operable with the client's existing hydraulic press equipment.
Shengqi developed a complete SMC compression mold solution including the cavity and core set, heating system, guiding and alignment components, and interchangeable inserts for multiple helmet sizes. The mold structure was reviewed for compatibility with the client's press specifications before tooling started.
Due to the project's security requirements, communication was handled through designated procurement representatives. Trial molding was supported via remote video guidance, with sample evaluation conducted against agreed dimensional and ballistic performance criteria.
